ELISA [eli] FRASSON (PhD) is an Italian researcher and journalist interested in dance and sound ecosystems, currently based in Berlin. With extensive experience in the organizational context of screendance events, dance in urban spaces, and in mentoring students in creating their own projects, she is a freelance dance journalist, event curator and educator for independent and institutional projects between Italy, UK and Germany. She is cofounder of the nomadic screendance platform [SET.mefree] Dance & Movement on Screen and of the Italian cultural association V.e.N.e. In 2020 she investigated the Italian dance scene during the pandemic, visible in her publication ‘As the Words are Touching us. Reconsidering Some "No Manifestos" in the Light of the Present Pandemic’ (Dune Journal, 2020). Together with a collective of researchers and curators, she contributed to 'A Forum of Questions for Active Viewing, Learning and Creating on Screen(s) During a Global Pandemic (The International Journal of Screendance, 2021). She has been working for Cantieri Culturali Festival Firenze (IT; July 2021) as one of the five selected field researchers for the call Abitante. In 2021 she has been writing for Tanzschreiber, a platform for current critiques on Berlin dance events. In 2022 she has been awarded a Dis-Tanz-Solo stipend for her research in dance and criticism. Elisa has a PhD in Dance Studies (University of Roehampton, London).
